  1. I went to the PTO meeting tonight hoping to gain a better understanding of the school my children currently spend most of their waking lives. I am a single mother, so I try to make every bit count. I brought my children, and they loved seeing my interest in "their" school. It was my first ever PTO meeting and I had a lot to learn. I did not know that when state and community funding is inadequate to keep our children's playground equipment safe that it is the PTO's fundraising efforts that make up the difference. Well, right now, the PTO is in desperate need of supporters - supporters with time, resources, and/or talents. Their are so many more issues other than the playground equipment that need to be addressed, but we need a few more thoughtful citizens. Imagine the positive outcomes that could take place if each Russell parent donated only a single hour each month. I decided to join. Please join me and others who are excited to get to know and work with you! ~Ishmaella Elizabeth
